Requirements

What you need to rent an exotic car

Three things: be 18 or older, hold a valid driver's license, and carry full-coverage insurance that extends to rental vehicles. Add the refundable security deposit listed on each car's page, and you're cleared to drive anything in the fleet.

Age: 18 and up

Platinum Exotics rents to drivers 18 and older. There is no 21+ or 25+ tier and no young-driver surcharge — the same age requirement applies to every car in the fleet, from the $345/day Corvette to the $2,750/day Aventador SV.

License

A valid driver's license is required and verified before the keys change hands — it's part of the quick verification step at handoff, along with the digital rental contract. The walkthrough of the car happens at the same time, whether that's at our Costa Mesa showroom or at your door on delivery.

Insurance: full coverage that extends to rentals

You need full-coverage auto insurance — collision and liability, not liability-only — that extends to vehicles you rent. Many personal policies do extend this way, but not all, and the only way to know is to ask your insurer directly: "does my coverage transfer to a rental vehicle?" Sort this before your rental date; it's the requirement that most often needs lead time.

The refundable deposit

Every car carries a refundable security deposit, listed on its page next to the daily rate: $1,000 for most of the fleet, $2,000 on a few cars, and $5,000 on the Aventador SV. It is separate from the rental price and returned after the car comes back as it left.

Mileage and the rest

Every rental includes 100 miles per day; extra miles are billed at the per-mile rate on each car's page ($3–$10 depending on the car, most at $4). Requesting a reservation costs nothing — you pick the car on the fleet page or booking form, we text you within the hour, and availability, rates, and these requirements are confirmed with you directly before anything is charged.

What happens at the handoff

Whether you collect the car at the Costa Mesa showroom or have it delivered — Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, the Inland Empire, Temecula, and Murrieta are all regular delivery areas — the handoff runs the same way: license verification, the digital rental contract, a full walkthrough of the car together, then the keys. Plan on a few unhurried minutes rather than a rental-counter line, and keep our number handy; we're reachable 24 hours a day for anything that comes up mid-rental.
